A New View Counseling

I highly recommend Dr. Amy Fehlberg’s suicide prevention training. Her two-hour presentation was clear, engaging, and easy to understand, while still grounded in well-researched, evidence-based approaches for working with individuals experiencing suicidal ideation. What truly sets Amy apart is her depth of experience working with high-acuity clients. This made the training especially relevant and practical for real-world clinical settings. My team of 15 clinicians all commented on how the training helped make working with suicidal clients feel less intimidating and more approachable. Amy’s use of role plays was particularly impactful. She demonstrated how to implement her approach in a way that emphasized collaboration, effective use of assessment measures, and building trust with clients. Her integration of frameworks like CAMS provided a structured yet flexible way to support clients safely and effectively. In my nearly 20 years in the field, this has been the best suicide prevention training I’ve experienced. I would strongly recommend Amy to any organization looking to strengthen their clinicians’ confidence and competence in this critical area.
